Dosing note: Use your dog's actual weight for the individual product: under 25 lb, 2 chews per day; 25 lb and over, 3 chews per day. For toy breeds under 10 lb, start with 1 chew daily and increase to 2. Give daily by hand or with food. Always provide fresh water.
Common health concerns for Rottweilers
Rotts carry a heavy joint load and live with elevated rates of hip and elbow dysplasia, cruciate ligament tears, and senior arthritis. Bloat is a real risk because of their deep chests. Osteosarcoma is also overrepresented in the breed, which is one of several reasons their average lifespan is shorter than other large breeds.
Gastrointestinally, Rotts are not as sensitive as some giant breeds, but loose stool from diet changes and stress is still routine. Bloat risk reduction includes managing fermentation gas and eating habits, which probiotics help with.
