Dosing note: Use your dog's actual weight for the individual product: under 25 lb, 2 chews per day; 25 lb and over, 3 chews per day. For toy breeds under 10 lb, start with 1 chew daily and increase to 2. Give daily by hand or with food. Always provide fresh water.

Two conditions define the breed. Mitral valve disease, a progressive heart condition, affects most Cavaliers by middle age and is the most common cause of death in the breed. Syringomyelia, a neurological condition involving fluid pockets in the spinal cord, is also overrepresented and presents as head and neck pain.

Neither condition is treated by nutritional supplements. Both need vet-directed care. The supportive supplement picture for Cavaliers is therefore about general wellness: gut, immune, skin, and joint health to support the dog through whatever else they are dealing with.
